Beginning March 14, 2022, masks will no longer be mandated for students and staff during normal school periods. The use of masks will be at the individual discretion of MVCS families and staff. update August 2021
In June 2021`, a COVID-19 Management workgroup authorized by the Board of Trustees and composed of parent volunteers, was formed to review and revise the MVCS 2020/21 COVID-19 Response Plan to accommodate the shifting landscape of COVID-19 vaccination and transmission rates, both locally and nationally.
Below, you will the current MVCS Management Plan for the 2021/22 school year. This plan explains the Mountain Village Charter School’s strategies for minimizing transmission of the COVID-19 virus within our school community, while also providing a high quality academic experience for our students. The mitigation strategies described in the document are informed by guidelines provided by CDC and NH DHHS, as well as public comment gathered from families, staff and board members of the MVCS community. Additional resources can be reviewed below, including an informative July 2021 slideshow from the state epidemiologist, Dr. Chan.

august 2020
Beginning in July 2020, MVCS formed a COVID-19 Leadership and Planning Committee, composed of teachers, staff, board members, and parents. This team has worked diligently to design a series of plans and protocols to keep teachers, students, and staff safe and healthy while attending school this year. The following document provides an outline of changes made to school policy in response to COVID-19, which will stay in effect until the Board of Trustees determines it is safe to resume pre-pandemic practices; this decision will be guided by the NH Division of Public Health Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Please take the time to review the MVCS response plan in detail; our community’s commitment to this plan is essential to its success and to keeping the MVCS campus open safely.

preparing MVCS physical environment
As outlined in the MVCS COVID-19 Response Plan, much of our effort will be focused on preparing outdoor spaces to expand our classrooms and maximize social distancing. Parents, teachers, and board members are currently working on plans to prepare outdoor spaces for inclement weather, establish hand hygiene stations, and define trails to create a safe and healthy outdoor environment for MVCS.
