Everyday, at least one third of the school day is spent outside in our 38 acre forest. This immersion cultivates a love of the outdoors and nurtures active citizens who will steward New Hampshire’s forest and water resources for future generations.

Students Welcomed to Morning Recess

School Starts: Outdoor Physical Education

Work time:  may be indoors and/or outside. Morning Gathering may be indoors or out. This gathering includes greeting songs, show and tell, weather, calendar, and introduction of new activities. The classroom is structured with shelves of nature, creative and academic activities, including Montessori materials. Children move freely in the space, choosing activities that are interesting and appropriate for their level of development. The teacher acts as a guide, introducing materials and assisting with interactions between children. Many days children start their day outside during this period, bringing activities outside, in unstructured play, or in a guided activity with a teacher. Children eat snack as a group during this period.

Lunch time – inside or outdoors.

Free Play

Music, art, outdoor lessons or hikes.

Silent Reading

School dismissal.
